It's soo good to see sanji's growth as a character and his journey to self-acceptance and self-love! The action panels were great too. It was very satisfying to see killingham get his ass kicked. Hopefully this silences the people saying that this arc has been boring. Sanji has had an incredible character arc and I'm kind of proud of him, so well done oda. These recent chapters have really recontextualized the whole series for me a lot of things that seemed to be played off as gags turned out to be important. Sanji's always been my favorite, I've been getting shield vibes from the last few chapters which shows how amazing oda is. Truly, looking back sanji has always been the straw hat's shield. Someone else mentioned that being his last cigarette cause it ties together the self harming attribute sanji had. Having him stop smoking would be soooo brilliant.

I can't sing any better praises of this chapter than have already been written here, so instead I want to muse on the notion that a gods knights regen can slow down. Or was that just killingham coping, trying to convince himself sanji doesn't have conquerers? My theory is that his eyebrow changes whenever his exoskeleton protects him from damage his armament couldn't prevent, or when he is relying on his exoskeleton without trying to defend himself. I think it changed back to normal here because sanji is choosing to defend himself even though he knows his body can take a ton of punishment now. Such a deep and emotional chapter. I’m so glad to see we have a good conclusion to sanji’s powers and character growth that we have been wanting for so long. His past traumas affected him so much that he never came to fully accept who he is as a person. Thankfully with ivankov’s help he realized this lesson and sought to became a person who is uniquely himself, first!
