The Reason why the World Government wants to kill Dr. Vegapunk

Vegapunk tried to replicate Kaido’s fruit and “FAILED”, that’s at least what the World Government and CP0 knew.

Then Admiral Green Bull came to Wano and he saw ANOTHER dragon with the same abilities as Kaido.

I believe that Aramaki, once he returned to Mary Geoise, warned the Marines that Vegapunk lied about the fruit and now the World Government no longer trusts him.

The World Government wants to kill Vegapunk since he’s become more of a threat than an asset. He has fulfilled his purpose, and the World Government doesn’t need him now with the new Seraphims.

As Lucci suggested the reason because they want to kill Vegapunk might be connected to Lulusia.

Vegapunk might be somehow connected to the weapon that Im used to destroy Lulusia (many had speculated it could be the ancient weapon Uranus but it could also be a weapon created by Vegapunk). However, why kill “the most useful person in the world”? Well Vegapunk secretly might have been creating things that are capable of bringing down the World Government. Furthermore he probably have discovered every single secret of the Void Century or might have solved the mystery of Laugh Tale.

Nika Awakening is actually the only way to stop Blackbeard’s Darkness!

Before Chapter 1044, people had no idea that Luffy will have one of the most powerful devil fruits in the series.

The Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika is the only devil fruit power that the World Government wanted to erase from the entire history. It allows the user to transform into the legendary “Sun God” Nika.

So we learned that Luffy has this legendary devil fruit ability that once Joy Boy had. This devil fruit was so powerful that it’s nearly a Toon Force ability that gives Luffy enough freedom to do almost anything he wants.

Sun vs Darkness concept was already highlighted in Blackbeard’s previous battle, where Ace probably used his Logia Awakening via Entei and covered the half of the island with his fire, that his ability looked like an island sized Sun:

Basically, before Chapter 1044, people were still saying things like Luffy’s Haki is more important, not his devil fruit ability. But Oda proved these people wrong. Post-1044 One Piece gives the main character one of the most powerful devil fruit abilities, with the concept of being the Sun God.

Luffy has now the ability to do almost anything the he wants, with more freedom and more power once its power has awakened. And Blackbeard is the only character who can counter this freedom and power, with its darkness that can turn everything to nothing.

It makes so much sense that Blackbeard specifically searched for Darkness Logia, when there are also other powerful Logia abilities in One Piece. It was probably for countering an absurd and a very powerful Toon Force-like ability.

Nami Will Have A Definitive Power-Up At The End Of This Arc!

While many are anticipating this arc to be Franky’s for good and obvious reasons, this arc could also cater to Nami. While Franky is the ship’s foremost engineer, Nami is a science lover. She has been able to leverage science to upgrade her climatact from useless contraception to an extremely useful weapon.

In the past, the weather changed the course of history when a “freak storm” altered the outcome of the battle between Roger and Shiki during the Edd War. More recently, it was a weather anomaly that allowed Luffy to cheat death and officially embark on his journey.

My point is that the weather often feels like it is a prominent character in this story, a force that has and continues to dictate the course of history.

The weather’s importance is emphasized in the latest chapter as we’re told that Vegapunk wants to control or tame it. He blames the lack of funding for his inability to achieve this monumental task. Is Nami on her way to achieving what the world’s smartest scientist couldn’t?

Typically, people use the wind and sky to predict the weather. However, Vivi noted that Nami’s ability to predict the weather defied logic. If this were simple observation haki, as many have theorized, I think Oda would’ve revealed this by now. My thesis is that Nami’s natural affinity to the weather has something to do with her ancestry. But that’s a topic for another post.

We learned that the two things that Vega Punk can’t fully tame or control are the “urges of living creatures”, & the weather — both products of nature. Perhaps it was by design that Kuma — someone who’s familiar with Vega Punk — sent Luffy to train in the wild amongst creatures with strong and uncontrollable animalistic urges , while he sent Nami to the heavens (so to speak) to learn how to control the weather.

Throughout the story, Nami has used her understanding of the weather to great effect. She used it to sank a Buggy men’s boat, to get the crew to hard to reach places and out of harm’s way. Nami has also used her knowledge to turn Usopp’s party contraption into a useful and potentially deadly weapon. Most impressively, she was able to leverage a Yonko’s own storm against her army, and her sentient cloud against her.

So far we’ve only scratched the surface of what the combined power of Nami’s knowledge of atmospheric science and Zeus can do. Also, it’s important to remember that Zeus was instrumental in allowing Big Mom to control the weather. I believe that Nami’s knowledge of atmospheric science will allow Zeus to do much more than he was able to under Big Mom. Again, a topic for another post.

My theory is that Nami is being setup to accomplish what Dr. Vegapunk could not. In this arc she will learn how to more effectively leverage Zeus and science to devastating effects. And she will prove that a little girl from the East Blue can accomplish without funding what the world smartest man couldn’t.

One Piece Theories: How Franky is related to Vegapunk and MADS!

Given the recent creations of Vegapunk have a star denoting them, is it possible that ODA might show a shared history between Franky and Vegapunk? Perhaps a link to MADS? This was about 10 years prior to present time… 

MADS split up some time prior to 24 years ago as that’s how old Reiju is and Queen only knew of Judge’s planned modifications, he’d presumably never met any of the children, meaning they were born after the break up. How long after though? We don’t know. Ages being significant, Franky was 26 when he turned himself into a Cyborg (aboard a long-adrift yet reasonably advanced ship) and was found as a “child” presumably quite young as he was around 8-10 when he met the Roger Pirates (Oden specifically avoiding the others)… You know what that age range lines up with? Franky is old enough to have been abandoned around the same time MADS was falling apart. We don’t know how little Cutty Flam was when Tom found him… but any time prior to him being 8 honestly works. Perhaps he was a kid, born to parents within that organization but when it all fell apart he was either lost to pirates or his parents went into piracy to avoid the Government or fight them a little. I don’t know. In any case I think that ship is a derelict from the days of that scientific organization, because maybe some of the metalwork and prosthetics and whatnot are explainable… but where does a pirate’s kid get the knowledge to run a body on a carbonated beverage? AND build a complicated hydraulic movement and electrified life-support system capable of sustaining him in the middle of a scrap-boat? Unless there were either some advanced knowledge there giving context to how he so easily slipped into going through Vegapunk’s old notes and understanding their potential or he already knew of those principles and how to make them work and remember he’d only glimpsed at Pluton’s blueprints at this point, not had multiple years to study them.

One Piece Theories: Does Vinsmoke Sanji Have Lunarian Lineage Factors?

Ever since Queen began questioning Sanji about how Judge experimented on the Vinsmoke Family it got me wondering about a question I’ve had ever since Enies Lobby: “How can Sanji set his body on fire?” For the longest time I just attributed it to the One Piece World being full of strangeness, but Queen specifically questioned it which got me thinking again. Queen tries to attribute Sanji’s ability to cybernetics. Sanji brushes off the question, saying “the heat of my passion surpasses the temperature of flame”.

With the recent reveal of the Seraphim having Lunarian abilities, I’m beginning to wonder if the Vinsmoke children (or possibly just Sanji) were given some Lunarian DNA as a “prototype” by Judge to see if a modified human could use Lunarian abilities. We know the former members of MADS all have a history in body modification or artificially emulating strong pre-existing abilities: Caesar trying to make giants, Vegapunk’s artificial devil fruit mimicing Kaido’s devil fruit and the Seraphim emulating the warlords/lunarians’ abilities being my best examples. I don’t think it’s much of a leap to say MADS did these sorts of experiments prior to the group disbanding, leading to Judge performing a similar experiment on his kids. I don’t want to speculate if Sanji has other abilities that King has shown, but the ability to ignite his body and have it specifically questioned and compared to the Lunarian race feels like it’s being highlighted for a reason.

One Piece Trivia: Kuma is Jewelry Bonney’s Father!

For a long very time we have all speculated as to why Kuma would willingly give himself to be modified into a Pacifista. It has been revealed that Kuma used to be the King of the Sorbet Kingdom who was made an example for all other kingdoms of what will happen to them if they betray the World Government. But that still doesn’t explain why he seemingly did not resist. We saw Jewelry Bonney posing as “Connie”, queen dowager of the Sorbet Kingdom, and trying to infiltrate the Celestial Dragon’s domain to presumably rescue Kuma.

There was also another mystery that we have never gotten an answer to: Why is Bonney important to the Marines/World Government? Well I believe it is all linked! We generally believe Bonney is older than she looks but if we pay attention to the story the form she changes the most into is her child form. Moreover, in previous we see Luffy saving Bonney from the water. Her being in water should mean her fruit powers are off, putting her in a base form. And in this chapter, we see her as a child. With this I have come to the conclusion that Jewelry Bonney is actually Kuma’s young daughter. I believe that after the Gentle King Kuma betrayed the World Government, they kidnapped his daughter, ruined his reputation (made him into Kuma the “Tyrant”) and forced him to undergo the modifications that made him into Px-0 or else they would kill his daughter. In brief, Bonney is important to the World Government because she is the only reason Kuma doesn’t go against them, and is probably one of the only person that knows of Kuma’s true nature and the real reson they did this to him. I think Kuma joined the Revolutionaries because he intended to break the ties with the World Government. But after they captured Bonney, Kuma gave himself up, Bonney eventually escaped but it was already too late. To conclude, there is a very important detail that many have not noticed so far. This was written and drawn by Oda as you can see in the picture from Vivre Card of Bonney: “ベガパンクに父を元通りにさせる” “I’ll let Vegapunk restore my father”. This finally confirms us that Kuma is Bonney’s Father!

One Piece Chapter 1060: Has Imu’s Island Killing Weapon Been Used Before?

A terrifying new power shook the world of One Piece in the newest chapter as the audience got to see the complete erasure of the island kingdom of Lulusia. Imu, the highest sovereign power in the world, was shown using a weapon of some kind to destroy the kingdom that had recently rebelled against the World Government.

Bombarded from the sky, the island was obliterated, seemingly destroying everything and everyone in the area, including Sabo, who just so happened to be on the island at the time. It's unknown whether Sabo has survived or not, but given his importance in the plot and lack of a proper send-off, it's unlikely that he's truly been killed.

The exact nature of the island killing weapon is up for debate, but many fans believe that Imu used Uranus -- one of the ancient weapons -- to carry out the devastating attack. Uranus is one of the oldest gods in Greek mythology and the god of the sky. Just as the ancient weapon Poseidon was found deep in the oceans, it would make sense that Uranus would similarly be found in the sky.

The power of the ancient weapons hasn't truly been shown yet in the story, but the outright destruction of an island is certainly one way to make an impression on fans. It's possible, however, that this isn't the first time the weapon has been used, and fans just haven't been made aware of this fact yet. God Valley, an island that existed somewhere in the Grand Line, was the location of an enormous battle between the Rocks Pirates and a joint effort between the Roger Pirates and the Marines. Nothing about the battle is known yet, but Rocks himself was killed during the battle. After the battle was over, the island disappeared from the world forever.

The joint effort of the Roger Pirates and the Marines isn't public knowledge and is only known by a few people in the world -- obviously, a result of the government trying to keep this fact hidden. After all, they've already covered up the events of the Void Century, but there isn't a better way to cover up the events of a battle than to annihilate the battlefield itself.

Nothing else in the series has come close to showing the level of power capable of killing an island, so it isn't hard to connect the dots from this chapter to the other events. How exactly the weapon functions and what circumstances it can be used under are still unknowns, but it will almost certainly make another appearance at some point in the future, possibly during the looming final war.

Yet, his answers have never quenched the thirst of the fans, who have been asking for decades to learn more about Luffy’s mom.

The latest instance of the curiosity displayed by fans will appear in the next SBS section of One Piece. In it, Oda will once again tell fans that he has already shown both of Luffy’s parents in the manga. One of them is known by every fan as Monkey D. Dragon, the leader of the Revolutionary Army.

Luffy’s mom, on the other hand, has not been revealed yet, but this latest statement makes it clear that we have already met her. As the story of One Piece nears its end, Oda will likely start giving Luffy’s mother major importance in the series.

This is not the first time Oda has talked about the woman who raised Luffy. A few years ago, the creator of One Piece claimed that he already had an idea of what Luffy’s mother would look like. The woman would be rough-looking, loud, and impolite. This ended up being the personality of Dadan, a woman who acted as Luffy’s adoptive mother for many years.

Years after that statement, Oda was once again questioned about Luffy’s biological mother. This was the first time the mangaka replied that Luffy’s mom had already been drawn in the manga. Many fans, following the One Piece creator's statement, have come up with speculations about who the woman who raised Luffy as a baby is.

Some fans theorized that Sir Crocodile could secretly be Luffy’s mom. In the past, fans have speculated that Crocodile used to be a woman who asked Ivankov to turn him into a man. Another popular theory claims that Im-sama could be our hero’s mother, which could explain why Oda is so secretive about the truth.

Recently, a new theory has surfaced amongst the community, claiming that Bonney is the Straw Hat captain’s mom. This theory is based on the sudden appearance of the female Supernova in One Piece chapter 1060. Fans believe Oda is talking about our protagonist’s mother due to Bonney's reappearance in the series.

Despite Oda’s insistence about Luffy’s mom not being important to the story of One Piece, fans will continue to wonder who the woman is. It seems like Oda is slowly warming up to the idea of revealing the identity of this enigmatic character.

Nevertheless, until there is an official statement concerning the identity of the Straw hat captain’s mother, fans will have to keep speculating about the possibilities. Maybe in the future, Oda will finally shed some light on this issue.

One Piece Shocks Fans with Some of Wano's Most Impressive Animation Yet

One Piece is doing big things with the manga, and of course, the anime has its own burden to bear these days. While Eiichiro Oda handles the manga's final act at long last, Toei Animation is keeping a tight hold on the Wano Country saga. After all, the storyline is one of the most intense to date, and it seems fans are in disbelief over episode 1033 right now.

And why is that? Well, you can see it all in the slides below. Episode 1033 has some of the best art from Toei Animation to date. Luffy vs Kaido has become a spectacle to behold thanks to this big episode, and fans are admittedly stunned by the quality Toei Animation brought them.

After all, One Piece is a weekly anime, so Toei Animation is limited in the resources it can spend on any given episode. However, the company has made concerted efforts with the Wano Country saga to do things differently. Some of the company's best animators and directors have been tapped to oversee episodes. But when it comes to overall animation, it is hard to imagine any episode of One Piece compared to episode 1033.

You can see just some of the fandom's reactions below, and their insight shows how gobsmacked this update has left them. And when One Piece approaches the final moments of Luffy vs Kaido, we know the anime will deliver even better animation. 

The Reason why Blackbeard captured Koby

In Chapter 1059 we see a newspaper reports about Koby being captured by the Blackbeard Pirates. The theory I see people talking about the most is Blackbeard turning in Koby’s bounty to Cross Guild and then you get the Alvida reunion. That would be super cool and I think that’s plausible but I think that could still happen on top of the theory I have.

So Kuzan is affiliated with Blackbeard and the prevailing theory is he’s undercover for SWORD. So that interaction is a very big possibility. However, what if another reason Koby was captured is to prove Kuzan’s loyalty? Blackbeard has shown that he knows far more than he lets on so what if he’s already suspicious of Kuzan and he wants Kuzan to kill Koby in front of him to prove he has fully removed himself from the navy.

Kuzan would refuse which leads to the reveal that he actually is part of SWORD so he tries to escape with Coby but is wounded. One of the reasons Kuzan is affiliating himself under Blackbeard could be to try and discover the method that Blackbeard used to acquire two devil fruits powers and how the Blackbeard Pirates steal other powers and before he passes he could impart the knowledge he’s gained to Koby and also give Koby his ice power somehow in the process.

It makes a lot of sense to me if the reason Koby becomes a big part of the story again is because he’s the one who’ll tell Luffy about Blackbeard’s secret. Blackbeard could monologue and tell Luffy during their battle but I think it would be so much more dynamic if Koby was the one to do it. Imagine the panel after a couple arcs where we see Koby again after awhile and he suddenly uses ice powers and he reveals why he has them.

Do we already know the Former Empress of Amazon Lily after Shakky and before Hancock?

So we recently found out that Shakuyaku “Shakky” was the Empress of Amazon Lily tribe from two generations ago.

And we have been told that both of the Empresses before Boa Hancock have died. So this leaves a question, did the Empress before Boa Hancock really die? If not, who is it?

Given that the difference of age between Shakky and Boa Hancock is 33 years (31 – 64), the Empress could’ve been someone around the middle of that age wich is 47.5 years.

Well, I went in search of characters around that age and the only females around that age are either daughters of Big Mom (Charlotte Mondée, Charlotte Hachée, etc…) or Shinobu wich is from Wano. But I saw a certain character that we’ve already seen some theories about being a woman: Sir Crocodile (46 years old)

This combined with Ivankov saying that he knows a certain secret of Crocodile may indicate that he really is not only a woman, but a former Empress of Amazon Lily.

This also might leave some theories on Luffy being the son of an Empress… but we’ll leave this for later.

Vegapunk has created an even more Powerful Weapon than the Seraphim!

The Seraphim are new Pacifista units developed by the Marines’ Special Science Group with the intention of replacing the Seven Warlords of the Sea as one of the Three Great Powers. I am pretty sure that Seraphims aren’t the only group of new Pacifista.

Seraphims in religion are only a group of Angels compared to many. They’re considered the most important because the reside near God’s throne, they’re not powerful as in the fighting sense they just stand still and float 24/7 while Angels and Archangels aren’t considered important but they’re the fighting Angels that carry God’s commands.

Seraphims are considered the highest in hierarchy but they interact with humanity the least and the more you go down the chain the more they interact with the world and humans. I do not expect 9 classes of SSG New Pacifista, that’s simply too much but a Class of Angels from each sphere/triad is enough and to be expected or even just Seraphims and another class like Archangels. Who could be used to make the Archangels models? I have 3 options on who it could be. But first who are the Archangels? There’s normally 4 of them:

Michael, Gabriel, Raphael and Uriel (Uriel is swapped with Azreal in other abrahamic religions like Islam). I don’t expect the characters to be named these angels names but they would represent them. So let’s get to the possible candidates:

1- The Four Emperors

The Marines has had 4 Yonkos in their hands at different times:

Kaido has been in their custody numerous times so it’s very easy to get his DNA and we have already saw Vegapunk experimenting on him, that’s how he made Momonosuek’s devil fruit in the first place;

Blackbeard has been in their hands at his time when he was a Warlord even it it’s brief period of time;

Shanks has visited the Gorosei more than once so they could have been able to acquire his DNA at that time;

After Whitebeard died his body was in the hands of the Marines and the World Government until he was handed to Shanks; we don’t exactly know if he was given the body right away or waited a bit either way a corpse dead on the battlefield is easy to get a DNA from.

2- The Four Admirals

There are 4 Admirals so the numbers match. They’re World Government employees so it’s very easy to get their DNA and we have seen the Admirals used for Vegapunks research before when he implanted Kizaru’s beams into the Pacifista.

Of course all of the examples I said will have the usual black wings, brown skin, and white hair.

Sabo, Koby and Vivi are set up to play very pivotal roles in One Piece Final Saga!

I think we all have an idea of the finale of the story involving Luffy and all the allied forces of the world coming together to fight the World Government one last time, as a united front. But how exactly could this all come together?

After all, Luffy has never really viewed himself as this grand hero who must bring the dawn of the world despite this clearly being his role in the story. He has only ever viewed himself as a pirate and operated as such. His goal has always been to find the One Piece and become Pirate King, and while that will likely involve fighting the World Government in some way, it would still be a bit out of character for Luffy himself to be commanding a gigantic alliance of disparate forces. This is where three key characters could come into play. I am confident that Sabo, Koby and Vivi are set up to play very pivotal roles in One Piece Final Saga.

I find it interesting that not only were Sabo, Koby and Vivi all reintroduced into the story during the Reverie arc, but all three of these characters are in dangerous situations and/or in need of help post-Reverie.

Sabo is one of the most infamous men in the world right now and is wanted for the murder of Nefertari Cobra, which he likely didn’t commit.

Koby was just revealed to have been kidnapped by the Blackbeard Pirates, and could even be sold off to Cross Guild for a bounty (though that’s obviously speculation).

Vivi has been on the chopping block since Imu and the Five Elders took interest in her, along with the fact that she has gone missing and her father was seemingly murdered.

Aside from all that, they are all fairly similar characters in a few ways:

• They all have a personal connection to Luffy and have known him since various “early points” in his life, with Sabo being Luffy’s brother since he was a child, Koby meeting him at the start of his journey in East Blue, and Vivi meeting Luffy and the Straw Hats at the start of the Grand Line.
• They all are level-headed, fan-favorite characters that most readers love. They have been portrayed to be fundamentally good, brave people who wish for peace above all else, each fighting for freedom in different ways.
• Each of them embodies a somewhat “ideal” version of the factions that they represent. Sabo is the ideal Revolutionary, a strong fighter who inspires freedom across the world as the “Flame Emperor” and is 2nd in command of the Revolutionary Army. Koby may not be the ideal Marine in the story since he isn’t that strong or prejudiced against pirates, but he is the most empathetic and truly caring Marine we have seen, which makes him the ideal in a sense. Vivi is set up to be a great leader, with a large part of her arc in Alabasta being learning the value of leadership and how she can best serve her people as a symbol of the nation, a role she may have to continue growing into as she mourns the death of her father.
• Finally, they all have personal experience with the evils of the World Government and have seen how badly it needs to be abolished or, at least, reformed. Sabo’s upbringing in the Goa Kingdom showed him how bad the World Nobles can be, and he was even scarred as a child by a Celestial Dragon before being rescued by Dragon himself. Koby was on the front lines of the Marineford war and was even nearly killed by Akainu before he was saved by Shanks, a pirate. Vivi had to enlist the help of pirates to save her kingdom from being destroyed by a civil war caused by Crocodile, a Warlord of the Sea employed by the World Government. It is also safe to assume she knows that the World Government covered up the Alabasta incident in order to save face.

Theory

So the main idea is that during the final saga Sabo, Koby, and Vivi will form a makeshift alliance to stop the upcoming Final War, which would likely involve the World Government fighting various allied nations and forces across the One Piece world. I would also say it is likely that each of these three characters will help mobilize all of the world’s forces against the World Government, and even help lead them in the Final War.

As mentioned before, all three characters have similar ideals and seek to improve the One Piece world, despite having completely different allegiances. If we assume that the “Great Cleansing” that the Five Elders mentioned in Chapter 908 comes into play, all of the various nations, allied forces, and factions of the world would be made aware of the evils of the World Government and finally be willing to fight back. However, they would likely need one last push to mobilize against the World Government and/or fight alongside Luffy, the Straw Hats, other pirate crews, etc.

At this point in the story, Sabo, Koby, and Vivi are all in highly compromised situations. It seems that Sabo is currently trying to contact the Revolutionary Army but there is no guarantee that they will be able to provide him much support. Koby is being held hostage by arguably the most dangerous man in the world right now. We have no idea where Vivi is or what her status is. It would make sense if, through some twists of fate, these three manage to come into contact and team up with each other. It would make even more sense if Sabo and Vivi’s disappearances were connected to a plot by the World Government, which would then spur Koby to assist them.

As for the finale of the series, rather than having Luffy command the forces of the Final War, I think it would make more sense for him and the SHtraw Hats to focus on their matchups, allowing Sabo, Koby and Vivi to lead the charge:

– Sabo could lead the Revolutionary Army and other independent allies;

– Koby could lead SWORD and potentially other sympathetic Marines who disaffect from the World Government over the course of the Final War (e.g. Smoker, Garp, Fujitora, X Drake, etc.);

– Vivi could lead the various nations across the Grand Line that are likely sympathetic to Luffy and/or have a grudge against the World Government (e.g. Alabasta, Water 7, Fishman Island, Dressrose, etc.).

Yamato

Yamato is the son of Kaidou. Born as Kaidou's daughter and groomed from a young age to be his heir, Yamato instead developed a profound admiration for the samurai Kozuki Oden. After his death, Yamato chose to become Oden, impersonating him and adopting his mannerisms. As a result of this desire to become Oden, Yamato decided to become a man and identify as Kaidou's son, and Kaidou and his crew refer to him as such as well.

This path has put Yamato at odds with Kaidou, with much of his life being spent imprisoned on Onigashima. Yamato befriended Portgas D. Ace during his visit to Wano Country, and after learning of Ace's death waited for the arrival of his sworn brother, Monkey D. Luffy. Initially desiring to join Luffy's crew, Yamato ultimately elected to remain behind on Wano, though still intends to go out to sea in the future.

Yamato is a major ally of the Straw Hats during the Wano Country Arc.

Appearance

Being assigned female at birth and not usually choosing to explicitly present as male, Yamato has typically been referred to as a woman by people when they first encounter him. Yamato is taller than an average human, standing at 263 cm (8'8"). He has long, white hair that is bound between orange rods into a ponytail at the back, which fades into aqua green and then blue the further down it goes, and ends in rectangular locks similar to Kaidou. Yamato also has large, orange eyes with prominent eyelashes, wears gold hoop earrings on both ears, and has horns on the top of his head which are mostly red, but gradually become more flesh-colored toward the base.

Yamato's current outfit is a sleeveless white garment with a diamond-shaped design on both sides and an indigo, wisp-patterned bottom half. He wears a pair of red hakama pants and sandals, and, much like Oden, wears a large purple and white nio-dasuki behind his back.

Personality

Yamato greatly admires the legendary samurai Kozuki Oden to the point of even proclaiming to carry his identity. Yamato has self-identified as Oden on multiple occasions and has even emulated his gender, proclaiming to be the son of Kaidou due to Oden being a man. Although initially carrying doubts as to how to present as Oden, Yamato has steadily expressed a straightforward attitude regarding this identity as time has gone on, even proclaiming this as such to Oden's son Momonosuke, to the boy's horror. Although having wholeheartedly embraced this identity, Yamato retains his original persona, referring to Yamato as his "other name". Yamato does not seem to like being misnamed, having quickly corrected Luffy when given a nickname.

Abilities and Powers

Yamato is an extremely powerful warrior, with Black Maria noting that bringing him back to Kaidou's fortress after he had escaped would be a difficult task. In the past, Yamato was able to clash against Ace, a powerful Logia user, on equal ground. Afterwards, Ace acknowledged Yamato's abilities, saying he could not believe someone so strong was not the captain and lamenting that he could not join his crew. During the raid on Onigashima, Yamato clashed with Kaidou, a particularly notable feat considering the Emperor's nearly unparalleled physical might, with Kaidou himself acknowledging his son's strength and value as a soldier.

Physical Abilities

Yamato possesses immense physical strength resembling that of Kaidou, being capable of wielding a large and heavy kanabo and using it to knock out Ulti, an Ancient Zoan user and one of the Tobiroppo, with just one blow. Yamato was also able to physically match Luffy's strength with relative ease, even when he increased his strength exponentially with Gear 2 and Gear 3. When he countered a punch from Luffy with a kick, the powerful collision destroyed part of the nearby wall and ceiling and blew back the Beasts Pirates around them. Yamato could easily run while carrying Luffy with just one arm and was able to shatter the extremely tough armor and weaponry of the Beasts Pirates' Armored Corps.

Devil Fruit

Yamato ate the Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Okuchi no Makami, a Mythical Zoan-type Devil Fruit that allows him to transform into a divine wolf, as well as a human-divine wolf hybrid. According to Kaidou, this beast is a "Guardian Deity of Wano Country". Yamato ate this fruit purely out of hunger, with Kaidou not intending for him to be the one consuming the fruit.

As a Zoan, this fruit greatly bolsters Yamato's physical abilities. He was able to clash near-evenly against Kaidou, an Emperor of the Sea, while the latter had assumed his extremely powerful human-dragon form. Furthermore, being a carnivorous animal, this animal transformation grants Yamato heightened predatory instincts, as well as equipping fangs and claws that are well-suited for combat.

Jinbe

"Knight of the Sea" Jinbe is the helmsman of the Straw Hat Pirates and one of the Nine Senior Officers of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet. He is the tenth member of the crew and the ninth to join, doing so during the Wano Country Arc.

Jinbe is a whale shark fish-man and a powerful master of Fish-Man Karate. His dream is to fulfill his former captain Fisher Tiger's dying wish of coexistence and equality between humans and fish-men. He was a member of the Sun Pirates, eventually becoming its second captain after the death of their original captain, Tiger. He eventually became one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, though he resigned during the Summit War of Marineford.

Prior to and amidst said war, Jinbe befriended Monkey D. Luffy, and two years later allied with him and his crew to prevent the New Fish-Man Pirates' coup d'état against the Ryugu Kingdom's Neptune Royal Family. Luffy thereafter invited him to join the Straw Hat Pirates, but Jinbe held it off until severing ties with Big Mom during the Whole Cake Island Arc. After staying behind in Totto Land to protect the Sun Pirates from Big Mom's wrath, Jinbe returned to the Straw Hats during the Wano Country Arc, officially announcing his status as a member of the crew.

He first gained a bounty of Beli 76,000,000 due to him being a member of the Sun Pirates. It was later increased to Beli 250,000,000 after Jinbe became the new captain of the Sun Pirates before it was frozen after he joined the Seven Warlords. Jinbe resigned his position as a Warlord at the Summit War of Marineford with his bounty being reinstated at Beli 438,000,000. His current bounty is Beli 1,100,000,000 as a result of the events at the Raid on Onigashima.

Appearance

Jinbe is a large blue whale shark fish-man and the current tallest member of the Straw Hat Pirates. He has a stocky build similar to that of a sumo wrestler and a face that is commonly associated with various Japanese demons such as the oni. His yellow eyebrows and sideburns are distinctly shaped like those found on such demons, in addition to a bulb-like nose and an angular lower lip pointing upwards. He has a lightning-shaped scar that can be seen from his left sideburn and reaching over his left eye which he obtained sometime between Otohime's assassination and meeting Ace. He also possesses two tusk-like conical lower fangs associated with Oni as well; the rest of his teeth from the upper and lower rows are pretty much the same, albeit much smaller. He also has a severe underbite, which makes room for his huge fangs.

He has long, two-toned black hair, with two long stripes, colored gold in the manga and white in the anime, coming from the roots over his forehead and trailing down the back, a topknot, and tuft of hair on his chin with a slight green hue. This topknot did not exist during his time as a member of the Sun Pirates, instead his shorter and flowing black hair trails off half way to a light color concentrated at the back of his head. He kept his chin clean-shaven before joining the Sun Pirates, after which it gradually grew out over time. His hands and feet are also webbed, typical for a fish-man, and his limbs that are somewhat thin in comparison with his enormous girth. His gills (which are pale and pinkish in color) are in between his shoulders and neck. 

Under his pale red coat (which he swaps for a black one two years later), he appears to be wearing a Coral colored traditional Japanese clothing covered all over with black and white square-shaped patterns with the black and white layers alternating each other (beginning with the black outline from the edge) and ending with a dark square at the middle of each and every one of them. He also ties this attire up with a purple obi like a ribbon around his waist.

Jinbe is often seen wearing different traditional kimono of varying patterns: he wore a karakusa and later a floral design during his time as a member of the Sun Pirates; he wore square designs during his debut and a plain one after the Summit War of Marineford. Four years ago, when fighting against Ace, he wore a black gi instead with fish designs on either side of the chest, and a red sash with a tanto tied to it. Two years after the war, while waiting for Luffy at the Sea Forest, his kimono has leaf-patterns. During Caribou's cover story, he is seen in another one patterned with flowers. For footwear, he appears to wear simple geta on his webbed feet. His Sun Pirates tattoo is on the middle of his chest. During the Whole Cake Island Arc, his kimono is yellow and has a Jolly Roger design arranged like stripes. Additionally, he is also wearing an orange colored coat. In the Wano Country Arc, his kimono is yellow with large orange and white diamonds patterned on it, a red sash, and his coat has a wave design, colored a dark purple that becomes progressively lighter and finally white at the ends of the sleeves and bottom. Like everyone else participating in the raid on Onigashima, Kin'emon briefly gave Jinbe a Beasts Pirates disguise.
