If you've ever played dungeons and dragons, the warlock class is a good representation of imu and the holy knights. There is a pact where the patron bestows you powers at their will in exchange of whatever the patron wants. Imu being the patron his pact is with the weapons from the original kings and by bestowing omen on the holy knights allows them to use them and I believe killingham produces the armor as part of the rimoshifu family equipment. I also see this imu possessing gunko using a grimoire to summon the weapons or attacks, as domi reversi was triggered after pistol and the bullet.
The other thing I would say is why sommers only does omen boosted attacks while killingham does the armor, is also related to combat style and devil fruit skills, rather than a power disparity between them. I agree with the feeling like he can break bullets wasn’t a big deal. But thinking about it, I feel most people in the op world fear guns. Few pirates actually use them and the navy all have them. When faced with guns it’s expected luffy to jump in front of them and bounce the bullets back. But now if luffys not there he feels he can even stop bullets with his legs, meaning he can protect people without luffy around if guns are involved. Also maybe implying he’d be fast enough on his feet to stop a bullet which would be insane speed. I feel it’s lost a bit in translation but you’d know better than me! I think the spear has to be a person too and it can only be an elbaf linked person, hjaridin uses spear of elbaf as a named attack but its not a giant, I actually think its ussop somehow. Its abit late for luffy to have a weapon even though the staff/pipe tease with sabo when they were young. Somehow the spear from the skypeia guy with norland is linked to ussop lore wise. As for maki its looking more likely that its manifested haki, sort of like zoro's ashura, and I think this is how you make black blades.
