I love when one piece does stuff like this because amidst the chaos of the fight and the absurdity of the killingham/iva fusion, etc, there's a complex character learning about himself and conquering his demons. Oda gives us a quick little moral lesson about how to live our lives to the fullest and it comes naturally and smoothly to the story. It doesn't feel like a forced message at all because sanji has been written and developed in a way that taking this step for his character comes off as natural and expected. Great chapter and I cannot wait to see sanji kick killingham's ass next chapter.

This! I'm a queer woman, and even though I hate that oda still draws the candies the way he does, I cried when iva brought them in to shout about self love. I'm fairly certain this is oda retconning his poor understanding of the queer community when he wrote the timeskip but honestly? It's amazing that he was able to perceive it and make the okamas the ones showing sanji what self acceptance is like. It was beautiful, it was emotional, it was fucking perfect and I love it!
